Katelin is a poet, educator, and recent graduate of The New Writers Project at The
University of Texas at Austin. She is also a proud Kentucky native.
Katelin's teaching experience ranges from three years of formal instruction at the middle
school level to coaching the Pine Ridge Reservation's slam poetry team at the
2014 Brave New Voices Festival to her current work teaching creative writing at
the University of Texas and The Austin Public Library Friends Foundation. Her teaching
is centered on the idea that understanding one's self through writing is the single greatest
way to affirm authenticity and promote literacy.
In addition to teaching, Katelin works as the Managing Editor for Bat City Review.
