Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts | Creative Writing Faculty










Kate joined the KY GSA creative writing faculty in 2024. Alongside other faculty, she curates curriculum and teaches a three-week arts immersion residency for students from across Kentucky, hosted annually at the University of Kentucky.
Regional Teacher of the Year | Lake Belton High School


During Belton ISD’s 2024 Convocation, Kate was named the 2024 Regional Secondary Teacher of the Year for her work as an educator at Lake Belton High School.
The Library Foundation | Programs Manager







From 2015-2021, Kate worked as a teaching artist and later the programs manager for the Library Foundation, developing curricula and programming across the Austin metro area. This included the Mayor’s Book Club, Austin Youth Poet Laureate, atCentral Reading Series, Badgerdog Creative Writing Program, and additional community partnerships across library branches, community centers, and schools.

As managing editor, Kate directed the editorial board and undergraduate interns in vision-building for issues 13 and 14 of Bat City Review. In addition to overseeing operational logistics, Kate worked alongside faculty member Lisa Olstein to refine the scope and sequence of the E380E Practicum in Literary Editing course.
